To all my wild guys out there, I’m not ignoring you. I’m happy to work with you too! Hit me up with your health concerns and we can chat.
Hi, I’m Tracy Strother.
I have over 20 years of experience as a dietitian. I started out in the clinical setting for 17 years. The conventional medicine model wasn’t the end all be all for me as time went on. I saw many people who would have tried to prevent their diseases if they could have earlier in their lives. I eventually stumbled upon functional nutrition and it resonated with me. Functional nutrition focuses on finding the root cause of your health issues and works on addressing those to heal. While I value conventional medicine, when needed, I think functional medicine is the future of healthcare.
My passion is helping women navigate hormonal issues and metabolic disorders. These tend to hit women hardest in the perimenopausal/menopausal years.
My Approach
Nutrition
My specialty! We will look at your current nutrition and ways that it might need to be tweaked to achieve better health outcomes. I believe in making small sustainable changes so that they can become habits.
Sleep
Sleep is extremely important to overall health. We will discuss how much sleep and the quality of sleep you get to make sure this is contributing positively to your health and not a hinderance to achieving your goals. I have several tools to help you get that precious sleep you need to thrive.
I start with getting a detailed history of your health including your health concerns and goals. We might opt for some testing to get a better idea of what is actually going on inside. We create a plan together that seems achievable and attainable and ideally will follow up to make sure your plan is working for you. We can adjust as we go to make sure you are making progress. I touch on what I believe to be the main pillars of health which are listed below.
Exercise
We will discuss the best types of exercise for you and your body. I stay up to date on the latest research regarding what kind of exercise is proven to be best. Did you know that men and women tend to have different exercise needs especially in mid-life?
Stress
Long term and short term stress can have a profound impact on every aspect of our health. We will discuss ways to reduce stress on a regular basis.
